As a professional ghostwriter, I get to speak to a lot of high-profile people.

They will have created multi-million dollar businesses, speak to audiences of thousands without apparent fear, and become the envy of us minions.

But there’s one thing they say they can’t do – and that’s write.

Of course, they can write. But they can’t write confidently. To a point where they are happy to click ‘Publish’ and be comfortable with it. That’s why they hire ghostwriters.

‘I don’t have 20 years to learn how to write a book,’ a client once told me. ‘That’s why I want you to do it.’

And I totally get it.

We’re all good at some things but other things, perhaps not so much.

Well congratulations – you’re human!

This lack of writing confidence stops more books from ever being written than lack of time, talent, money, or fancy notebooks ever could.

And it usually sounds very understandable. After all, books are written by writers, right? Those confident ones. Those skilled ones who’ve had all that training and experience.

Like many things in life, it’s the fear that stops many things.

So if you’ve ever been thinking about writing a book, but have that little voice in your head that tells you that you’re not good enough, here are a few things you should know.
